DUMPSTERS · RENTAL GUIDE
Load a Dumpster & Manage the Rental Period
Good loading starts with the approved material list and the provider’s instructions, not simply finding room for one more item.
Control what enters the container
Give everyone using the bin the accepted-material list. Separate hazardous, liquid and unapproved waste before loading. Keep dedicated clean-material streams separate; another trade’s mixed debris can change a load’s disposal requirements.
Distribute approved material according to the provider’s instructions and stay below the marked fill line. Dense material needs its own approved loading level. Do not burn waste, climb into a loaded container or attempt mechanical compaction.
Use doors and covers as instructed
A rear loading door can make arranging bulky material easier where that design is supplied. Confirm how the door must be closed and secured for pickup. Objects must not project beyond the container in a way that prevents safe collection.
Ask whether covering the load is appropriate and how temporary covers must be handled before pickup. Rain can affect some loads, but a cover does not change material or weight conditions.
Communicate when the plan changes
Contact the advisor before the agreed end date if more time is needed. Ask how extensions, exchanges and extra collections are arranged; these are not automatically included.
Stop before exceeding permitted fill or weight. A second haul or another approved arrangement can be discussed. Tell the provider about changed access, soft ground or gates so the collection can be planned with current information.
