Ask about the actual material and user
List removed finishes, wood, dense materials, packaging, and any special items separately. If considering a municipal facility, check current eligibility and acceptance directly. For a container request, obtain the provider's written load instructions. Neither a nearby facility nor the property's mailing address proves where a rental load will be taken.
Define the contractor's collection responsibility
Decide who orders the container, who may add waste, and who authorizes pickup. Keep the accepted material list available to every trade. If the building remains occupied, separate ongoing household waste from the renovation plan unless both have been expressly included. Schedule collection while the contractor can still clear the vehicle approach and address any load questions.
Compare the agreed waste stream
Ask for hauling, rental days, included weight, accepted debris, and exchange terms. Clarify responsibility for excluded items and additional collections if the scope expands beyond the original material list.
