Preserve useful items before demolition
Ask the contractor which doors, cabinets, hardware, or other components can be set aside without disrupting the work. Identify paint, electronics, appliances, and uncertain material for separate review. The district's facility information helps frame questions, but its residential or transfer-station arrangements should not be assumed to match a commercial rental load.
Reserve retrieval space through the finishing stage
Describe the loading route from the building and where new fixtures will be delivered. Keep that arrival area from consuming the truck's agreed pickup space. If demolition fills the container before finish work ends, discuss an exchange or separate final cleanup. Decide who inspects the completed load and requests collection before the property reopens.
Compare staged removal rather than one large estimate
Request accepted materials, rental days, included weight, hauling, and exchange terms. Ask how salvaging more material or extending finish work affects the proposal.
