Make decisions before helpers begin loading
Create separate areas for retained possessions, donations, and waste. Review shelves, boxes, and old containers rather than treating everything in a cleared room as disposable. Ask the responsible service about appliances, electronics, batteries, liquids, or uncertain contents individually. If renovation debris will follow the cleanout, confirm whether it belongs under the same arrangement.
Keep the home usable during the rental period
Consider daily vehicle access, doors, the route to temporary restrooms, and deliveries of replacement materials. Ask the provider to review the container position and truck working space. Keep the loading side open and reserve the pickup approach after the last cleanup day. Do not use that space to store items awaiting donation.
Compare the complete cleanout sequence
Ask about duration, loading limits, additional material, exchanges, final collection notice, and blocked access. Clarify whether a delayed donation pickup or ongoing renovation changes the service terms.
