Prevent a shared bin from becoming an unknown load
If volunteers or several contractors will load material, appoint someone to explain the accepted contents. Mark reusable supplies and items awaiting special instructions so they are not discarded by another team. Keep food-bearing rubbish and construction material separate until the responsible service determines the correct handling. Do not use spare space for a neighboring project's waste.
Schedule removal around the host's handover
For a rented or shared site, agree when the property must be cleared and whether a collection vehicle can enter after the activity ends. Preserve the working space around the container while cleanup occurs. If the host must lock the entrance, identify the person responsible for reopening it on the agreed day.
Clarify the authorized cleanup terms
Ask about material acceptance, loading limits, the collection window, extra days, and a load that differs from the original description. Include the host's final handover requirements in that discussion.
